Before getting into any business one should do some ground work to understand the market, and the industry. In the case of a Multi Level Marketing (MLM) venture too, such background information must be gathered early. One should also understand that the concept of internet marketing is new and there are companies who have been in the game since before.
While starting out a MLM venture, the people involved need to be educated about how it operates, and money to be made by leveraging on their contacts. It is advisable for the main distributor from the company to let his agents create teams and be in charge of them. The sales consultant can be paid a commission based on how many more people he ropes in instead of just on sales done.
There are seven techniques to lead your MLM downlines whereby not only will the sales increase but the level of participation as well. These are :
- Effective communication : It is important for the representative from the company to get in touch with each of the distributors to introduce and hand hold them. The person also needs to share his contact details with the sales representative or consultant to get in touch with for any queries.
- Personal touch : Every time a new sales person joins the name, it is the duty of the manager from the company to speak with them, encourage them and build relationships with them.
- Support system : Make sure to understand the downlines working with you as this will give you an idea as to how to guide them. Provide tips or inputs every now and then so they can work better.
- Consistent monitoring : There should be periodical review of the consultant’s performance and help those who need some extra guidance.
- Correct team focus : Over a period of time there will be four to five downlines working with you. It is necessary for you to balance the teams’ focus between sales and building a network.
- Realistic goals : A healthy downline doesn’t necessary result in high sales figures. You need to stay in close contact with them and make sure they are getting adequate support from their sponsors.
- Let them lead : The downline must be given a chance to showcase their abilities and bring success to the business. Give them the information needed and let them take it from there.
